Shaun Compton, 54, of Carthage, TX, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 1, 2019, in Orlando, FL. Shannon Lee "Shaun" Compton was born on July 22, 1964, in Huntsville, AL to the late Kenneth Allen and Anna S. DuPlessis Compton. Shaun graduated from Orange Park High School in Orange Park, FL with the class of 1982. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, where he earned an Associates Degree before being honorably discharged. Shaun married Stephanie Ann Sebald on Nov. 16, 2002, in Phoenix, AZ. He loved jet-ski racing, fishing, scuba diving, and working with electronics. Shaun was very involved with his family and loved taking them on trips to Florida. He owned and operated American Outdoor Transportation and Texas H20 Racing. Shaun moved to Carthage in 2003, from Arizona.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Stephanie Compton; children, Hailey and Kenneth Compton all of Carthage; sister, Susanna Kenton and husband De Wayne of Canyon Lake, TX; uncle and aunt, Lawrence DuPlessis and Ritha Fenske both of South Africa; aunts, Carol Childress of Birmingham, AL and Mary Potts of Huntsville, AL; and mother-in-law, Pat Wilson of Scottsdale, AZ.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matt Comer officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are De Wayne Kenton, John Sebald, Bobby Cardone, Jim Bennett, Robert Sayah and Michael Borges.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made for Shaun's children's college fund at the First State Bank in Carthage.
