Scottie Fields, 57, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Thursday morning, Aug. 20, 2020, at his home in Carthage. Scottie Dean Fields was born on July 25, 1963, in Laramie, WY, to Jerrel Henry and Linda Kay Mayhaw Fields. Scottie spent most of his life in Carthage and attended Carthage schools. He worked in the oil field industry and was a dozer and heavy equipment operator. Scottie was preceded in death by his father; brother, Clint Fields; and sister, Tammy Fields Abshire.

Survivors include his mother, Linda Fields of Carthage; children, Jeremy Fields and wife Jessica of Carthage, Brooke Handy and husband Chris of Big Spring, Joey Fields and Jarrett Fields and wife Danielle of Carthage; sister, Sheila Hutto; and 9 grandchildren.  Numerous other family members and friends also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Restland Memorial Park with Sister Betty Wills officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Jo Wills, Joel McPherson, Kirk Abshire, Tyler Fitch, Blake Fields, and Morgan Rayburn, Jr.
