Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah E. Railey, age 72 of DeBerry, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at DeBerry Baptist Church with Reverend Dick Sawyer and Reverend Chris Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in DeBerry Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Railey passed away on Monday, October 9, 2006 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Sarah Emily Yates Railey was born on February 9, 1934 in Carthage, Texas to Brad and Gussie Scott Yates. She graduated from Elysian Fields High School. She married J. W. Railey on March 24, 1950 in the Woods Community. Mrs. Railey worked as a nurse's aide and a bus driver in the Elysian Fields School District, retiring after 31 years. She loved the children at school and she loved her family dearly. Mrs. Railey had lived her lifetime in DeBerry where she was a member of the DeBerry Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1997, and one sister, Geneva Cole.

Mrs. Railey is survived by three daughters, Linda Marcum and husband Jerry of DeBerry, Janice Reed and husband Robert of Beckville, and Mary Nell Smith and husband Ricky of Carthage; two sisters, Nellie Clayton of Haughton, Louisiana and Lenora Clakely and husband Arnie of Frankston; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Terry Muirhead and wife Beulah; numerous other relatives and friends also survive Mrs. Railey.

Serving as pallbearers are Darrell Yates, Danny Yates, Frank Yates, Jimmy Cooper, Terry Muirhead, and Rickey Lawless.
