Santiago Franco Vasquez, age 67, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Thursday night, March 6, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on July 25, 1957, in Juventino Rosas, Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Camilo Vasquez and Maria Maura Franco. He married Patricia Colleen Odom on April 11, 1998, and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2022, after 24 years together. Santiago worked in the lawn care business in Carthage. He moved to Carthage from Mexico in 1983. Santiago was also preceded in death by a brother, Adolfo Vasquez.

He is survived by a daughter, Virginia Vasquez; brothers, Camilo Vasquez (Jessica Jackson) and Fransisco Vasquez; and sister, Maria De La Luz Vasquez. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Carthage City Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.
