Sandy Lay, 75, of the Old Center Community, in Panola County, TX, passed away on Thursday night, Jan. 6, 2022, in Carthage, TX. Sandra Lois "Sandy" Guss was born on Nov. 18, 1946, in Baton Rouge, LA to the late Earl LeRoy and Norma Marie Barrow Guss. She graduated from Jefferson Academy with the class of 1965. Sandy married Ninuel Gerald Lay on Feb. 2, 1982, in Woodlawn, AR. They moved to the Old Center Community in 1984, from Woodlawn and Sandy was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith. She loved being a grandmother. Sandy was preceded in death by an infant brother and a step-son, Ninuel Gerald Lay, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Ninuel Lay of Old Center; children, Tiffany Fuemuller and husband Chris of Ore City, Todd Davis and wife Melanie of El Paso, AR, Roxanne Hastings and husband Jody of El Paso, AR, and Cody Lay and wife Brandy of Old Center; grandchildren, Jonathon Jones and wife Amanda, Zachary Kirkland, Michael Davis, Joseph Prior and wife Summer, Timothy Prior and wife Hannah, Hunter Davis, Jessica Hastings, Briley Bush, Jordan Lay, and Lainey Lay; and great-grandchildren, Khloe, Anna, Ava, Zak, Kaydence, and Kelsie.

Cremation arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
