Sandra Sue Oliphant, 69, of Houston, passed away on Friday morning, March 10, 2017, in Houston. She was born on May 12, 1947, in San Francisco, CA to Roy David and Allie Sue Miller Oliphant. She graduated from Odessa Permian High School with the class of 1965, and attended the University of Texas. Sandra served her country in the U.S. Marine Corp during Vietnam and was honorably discharged. She worked as an accountant for Monsanto in California and moved to Houston in 1998, where she continued her career. She was predeceased by her father.

Survivors include her wife, Cathy Horne of Houston; her mother, Sue Oliphant of Carthage; brother, David Oliphant and wife Kristi of Canyon Lake; sister, Jo Ann Oliphant of Carthage; nieces, Laura Ruch and husband Ryan and Amy Lyon all of Denver; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Rylie and Jordan Lyon and Raegan, Braxton, and Brayden Ruch.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Rehobeth Cemetery near Carthage with Dr. Harlan Hall officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Sandra passed away on Friday morning, March 10, 2017, in Houston.
