Graveside services for Mrs. Sadie Long, age 77 of Cleveland, Texas formerly of Panola County, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2007 at Mount Bethel Cemetery near Gary, Texas with Brother Monty Odom officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Long passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 in Cleveland.

Sadie Mae Walker Long was born on December 21, 1929 in Logansport, Louisiana to Claude and Clara Reeves Walker. She married James Riley Long on October 11, 1946. Mrs. Long had lived in Cleveland since 1978 moving from Houston. Before living in Houston, Mrs. Long lived in Panola County near Logansport. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Riley Long who passed away on March 28, 1995; one son, Bobby Dean Long who passed away in 1983; one daughter, Charlotte Elaine Long Cowart who passed away in 1986; one granddaughter, Tysa Long who passed away in 2005; one brother, James Walker; and one sister, Connie Gottsellig.

Mrs. Long is survived by one son, Jimmy Long of Cleveland; three sisters, Cammie Garrett of Panola County; Nell Hustedt of Houston, and Pauline Carver; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Long.

Serving as pallbearers are Mrs. Long's grandsons, Mark Cowart, Brian Cowart, and Brandon Caples.
