Ruth Marie Van Schooneveld, 95, of Beckville, TX, formerly of Conifer, CO, passed away on Tuesday evening, Jan. 12, 2021, at her home in Beckville. She was born on Feb. 15, 1925, in Hastings, NE to the late Lucius and Estella Hazel Smith Barber. Mrs. Van Schooneveld worked for many years in the Colorado Public School System until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Jack Huskinson and Herbert Van Schooneveld. Mrs. Van Schooneveld was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tamara K. Hardacre; brother, Vernon Dale Barber; sisters, Ethelyn Barber Haney and Gladys Barber Wille; grandson, Christopher Weinard.
She is survived by daughter, Cathy Rodgers and husband Bill of Beckville; son, Jack Huskinson, Jr. of Conifer, CO; grandchildren, Lisa Marie Raby, Kim Renee Whitehorse, Michael Ray Plate and wife Christine, and Dale Allen Plate and Kenda Plate; numerous great-grandchildren; and step-children, Craig and Nancy Van Schooneveld, Bonnie and Will Hanson, Doug and Tina Van Schooneveld, Jane and John Duffy and all of their children. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Centennial, Colorado. A viewing will be at 1 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. following the celebration of life. Local arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Billy & Betty Shoffner Christian Education Center, c/o Northside Christian Center, 108 E. Ash St., Carthage, TX 75633.
