Ruth Walton Beck, 75, of DeBerry, TX, passed away on Wednesday morning, Sept. 11, 2019, in Longview. She was born on April 22, 1944, in Carthage, TX to the late Alex Walton, Sr. and Iree Smith Walton. Ruth graduated from Turner High School with the class of 1962. She married Leon Baker Beck on March 19, 1967, in Center, TX. Mrs. Beck worked for Tyson Foods for over 31 years, retiring as a supervisor. She lived her lifetime in Panola County and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Deadwood. Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ray, Freddie, and Emanuel Walton; sister, Darcie Walton McCann; and great-grandchild, Rickie Jackson, Jr.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Leon Beck of DeBerry; children, Frederick Beck (Belinda) of Carthage, Christie Beck of DeBerry, Carlas Douglas of DeBerry; siblings, Alex Walton, Jr. of Dallas, Gurthy Moore of Dallas, Claudia Guffin of Dallas, Betty Jones of Longview, and Mildred Brooks (Jim) of DeBerry; grandchildren, Cordarrol Beck (Jasmine), Chasity Jackson (Rickie), Olivia Beck, Colby Beck, Dra Calloway, and DaNaijah Leary; and great-grandchildren, Tiana, Tayceon,, Jayceon, Jaslyn, and Kason Beck and Bentley Calloway.

A public viewing will be held from 12 noon until 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A private funeral will be held and interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Deadwood.
