A graveside service for Mrs. Ruby Liston, 88, of Carthage, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall with Bro. Bob Scott officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Liston passed away on Sunday evening, July 5, 2015, in Longview.
Ruby Guilliams Liston was born on May 16, 1927, in the Rock Hill Community of Panola County, TX to the late Jay H. and Jennie Mae Baker Guilliams. She attended Beckville schools. Mrs. Liston married Perry Alton Liston on Apr. 24, 1943, in Panola County and he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2008. She owned Carthage Flower Shop for many years before her retirement. Mrs. Liston loved gardening, reading, shopping, and plants. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was the world's best mom. She had lived her lifetime in Panola County and was a member of Central Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Liston was also preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Anderson; brother, J.W. Guilliams; and sister, LaVerne Hill.
Mrs. Liston is survived by three daughters, Peggie Coats and husband Bob of Coppell, Linda Glenn and husband Rodney of Carthage, and Brenda Glenn and husband Stephen of Longview; son-in-law, Gaylon W. Anderson of Carthage; brother, Hullen Guilliams and wife Helen of Monroe; sisters, Maureen Hopkins of Marshall and LaNell Scrunk of Karnack; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
