Graveside services for Mr. Ruben S. Jones, 83, of Kilgore, Texas formerly of Panola County will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Harmony Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jack Harris officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Jones passed away on Saturday morning, May 5, 2007 in Kilgore.

Ruben Sol Jones was born on August 1, 1923 in Brownwood, Texas to Henry Marbie and Ophelia Hilliard Jones. Mr. Jones married Margie May Smith on June 8, 1946 in Henderson, Texas. Mr. Jones had lived in Carthage, Beckville, Tatum, and Marshall before moving to Kilgore two years ago. He was of the Pentecostal Faith. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margie May Jones who passed away on June 27, 2004; one daughter, L. V. Jones; and a grandson, Wesley Jones.

Mr. Jones is survived by four sons, Ruben Jones, Jr. and wife Gail of Big Sandy, Larry Jones and wife Monica of Kilgore, William Jones of Beckville, and Ricky Jones and wife Sandy of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; two daughters, Lilly Knox and husband John of Tatum and Margie Fay Kellogg and husband Don of LaPorte; one brother, Joe Mac Jones of Cleburne; two sisters, Melbie Jones of Cleburne and Edna B. Beam of Cleburne; three brothers-in-law; W. J. Smith and wife Sandra of Laneville, Melvin Smith of Carthage, and Hubert Smith and wife Mary Ann of Tatum; (12) grandchildren; (16) great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive Mr. Jones.
