A funeral service for Mr. Royce Junior Evans, age 66, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dennis Landtroop officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Evans passed away on Saturday night, Oct. 13, 2012, in Longview.

Royce Junior Evans was born on Oct. 19, 1945, in San Augustine, TX, to Benjamin Franklin and Alice Richardson Evans. He attended Joaquin schools. Mr. Evans loved hunting, fishing, camping, Barbequing, and spending time with his family. He moved to Carthage from Joaquin in 1977 and was a Baptist. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and six sisters.

Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Brenda Evans; five sons, Royce Evans and wife Jennifer, Troy Mathis and wife Vickie, Timmy Mathis, T.C. Stroud and fiancé Kelley, and Wesley Stroud and wife Tabitha; five daughters, Wendy Parker and husband Charles, Dotty Hight and husband Daniel, Sabrina Brown and fiancé Ben, Kim Robinson and husband Robert, and Dedra Davis and fiancé Woody; 25 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, L.B. Evans and wife Mary Lee; and mother-in-law, Clara Jones Rodgers. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive Mr. Evans.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Burran, Danny Brown, Jason Edwards, Charlie Sharp, Andy Gibbs, Jr., and Bobby Westmoreland.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Evans' sons, grandsons, and sons-in-law.
