Roy Specie, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on June 10, 2021 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born on February 7, 1932 in Moberly, Missouri to Joe and Edith Mitchell Specie.
Roy was a Korean War veteran. He worked as a Park Ranger in Florida State Parks. He was a member of Mercy and Grace Cathedral in Springdale. He served for five years in prison ministry and ministries helping the homeless and people struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. He loved animals. He enjoyed bird and nature watching. He loved people, and most of all his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Raymond Specie; one daughter, Leeanna Montgomery; brother, Joseph Glenn; and one niece, Sarah Catherine Specie.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Specie of the home; three sons, Robert Lee Wallace of Zephyrhills, Florida, Edward D. Specie of Bonita Springs, Florida, and Wayne L. Specie of Lake Placid, Florida; one cousin, Verlina Clinton of Moberly, Missouri; one niece, Linda Specie of Moberly, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Six Mile Cemetery.
