Roxie Ann Tatum Adams was born on March 3, 1940 in Beckville, TX, to the late Gilbert Tatum and Lillie Bell Gaston.  She graduated from Wallace High School in Orange, TX with the class of 1959. She married Leo Adams and enjoyed 25 years of love and bliss. Mrs. Adams worked for many years as a supervisor at Panola College. She was a member of Bethel C.M.E. Church in Beckville. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo Adams; and son, Patrick O'Neal Adams.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Crystal Mushonga of Ft. Worth, Larry Adams of Beckville, and Tim Adams (Joyce) of Beckville; siblings, George Raleigh (Glenda) of Ft. Worth, Lily Fletcher (Eddie) of Longview, Lillie Ann Griffin (Michael) of Arlington, and Ola Mae Stripling of Tyler; grandchildren, Ronnie LaDale Callahan, Nico Darnell Adams, Timothy Janorris Adams, and T'Ouja Milliek Adams; great-grandchildren, Drayson Darnell Adams and Kairi Adams; special friend, Thomas Johnson and 5 aunts. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives, and many friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at Bethel C.M.E. Church in Beckville with Rev. Gary Nelson officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
