Rowland Duckworth, 75, of Carthage, Texas passed away on Monday morning, September 5, 2022, at his home in Carthage. Howell Rowland Duckworth was born on April 29, 1947 in Henderson, Texas to the late Howell Edgar and Josie Elizabeth Rowland Duckworth. Rowland was a graduate of Carthage High School with the class of 1965 and later graduated Stephen F. Austin State University in 1970 with a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Business. He married Lisa Renee Templin on September 3, 1976 and together they celebrated 46 years. Rowland was a farmer and poultry producer for most of his life, was an avid outdoorsman, gunsmith, competitive shooter and loved spending time watching his grandkids. He was a member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge #521 A.F. & A.M., a 32-degree Master Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Still Waters Cowboy Church in Carthage. Rowland is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Mike Anderson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Renee Duckworth of Carthage; children, Tobi Duckworth and wife Tasha of Carthage, Brin Ritter and husband Jameson of Carthage, Eric Duckworth and wife Kaycee of Longview; grandchildren, Kinsley, Kiley and Tobi Kate Duckworth, Callen and Jace Ritter, Brylee and Raylee Duckworth and Oaklee Duckworth on the way; and sister, Donna Anderson and husband Bobby of Carthage. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive Rowland.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Templin and Bro. Matt Comer officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers are Michael Newman, Jeffrey Newman, Logan Doughty, Jonathan Tiller, Alan Templin, Bob Anderson, Joey Anderson, Callen Ritter, Jace Ritter, Luke Templin, John Templin III, and Joshua Templin.
The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to the nurses and staff of Hearts Way Hospice for your love and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rowland's name to the Children's Ministry Expansion Fund at Still Waters Cowboy Church.
