A funeral service for Mrs. Rowena Hall Sutton, age 88, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at the First Assembly Church of God in Christ with Bishop Hubert Owens officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Sutton passed away on Monday morning, Sept. 10, 2012, in Irving, TX.

Rowena Hall Sutton was born on Feb. 19, 1924, in Panola County, TX to Ernest and Bertha Sanders Hall. She married Allen Sutton and he preceded her in death in 1966. Mrs. Sutton worked for over 25 years at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home in Carthage until her retirement. She lived all of her life in Panola County and was a member of the First Assembly Church of God in Christ. Mrs. Sutton was also preceded in death by two sons, James and Sam Sutton; two brothers, James and Manuel Hall; and two grandsons, Rodney and Taraveon Sutton.

Mrs. Sutton is survived by one son, Arthur Sutton and wife Hazel of Carthage; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers are James Bonner, Delbert Pope, Roland Jones, Kenneth Smith, Clyde Holt, Jeff Pope, Jimmy Rayson, James Wilcot, and Clifford Hill.
