A funeral service for Mr. Ronald Hue Tatum, 71, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Jeffery officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Deadwood. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 12-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Tatum passed away on Friday afternoon, Jan. 10, 2014, in Shreveport.


Ronald Hue Tatum was born on May 5, 1942, in Carthage to the late Colbert and Maurine Nealy Allison Tatum. He worked as a machine operator with Chrysler Motor Company in Detroit, MI for many years until his retirement. Mr. Tatum moved to Carthage from Detroit in the 1980's. He loved to play dominoes, cards, bingo, and doing puzzles. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tatum was also preceded in death by one brother, James E. Tatum.


Mr. Tatum is survived by his aunt, Luvelma Cole; special cousins, Jimmy R. Flakes Sr. and Wessie Cole; four nieces Tonya Tatum, Jasmine Tatum, Janine Fiskes, and Stephanie Flakes; seven nephews James D. Tatum (Emily), Kevin Tatum, Shaun Tatum, Deon Tatum, Jamie Tatum, Johnny Tatum, and Jimmy R. Flakes Jr.; and a host of cousins and friends.


Serving as pallbearers are Tommy Cole, Cartrell Cole, Timothy Cole, Anthony Burroughs, Terrance Cole, and Zack Brown Jr.


Serving as honorary pallbearers are James D. Tatum, Jimmy R. Flakes Sr., Jimmy R. Flakes Jr. Kevin Tatum, Shaun Tatum, Deon Tatum, Jamie Tatum and Johnny Tatum.
