"Ron" Westbrook
October 13, 1947 – January 20, 2023
Ron Westbrook, 75, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Friday morning, January 20, 2023, at his home in Carthage. Ronald Gene Westbrook was born on October 13, 1947, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, to the late Pat Ford and Mary Lucille Phillips Westbrook. He served in the United States Coast Guard. Ron married Donna Ruth Harris on March 20, 1976, in Spring, Texas. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Carthage Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Westbrook was a 32 nd degree Mason and was a member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge #521. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and working in his shop. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara O'Donnell and brother, Travis Westbrook.
Ron is survived by his wife, Donna Westbrook; sister, Janelle Westbrook; brother, James Westbrook; nieces, Deanna Walker and husband Gary, Jennifer O'Donnell and husband Trinity Stanfield, Lacy Sadler and husband Scooter, Alicia Hammond and husband Joe, and Staci Wade; nephews, Jason Price, Jason Spiller, Elbert Cheatwood and wife Amy, and Chris Harris; great-nieces, Kendall and Kelsey Sadler; brother-in-law, Jimmy Harris and wife Sue; sister-in-law, Dorothy Cheatwood; special uncle, Hershel Phillips; and numerous other nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana with Bro. Mark Manning officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Gary Walker, Joe Hammond, Blake Hammond, Jason Price, Scooter Sadler, Elbert Cheatwood, and Jason Spiller.
Honorary pallbearers are Carol Golden and Roger Hartless.
