Graveside services for Mr. Ronald Ray Lipsey, age 64 of Longview, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Summerfield Cemetery in Judson with Brother James Winniford officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Services are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home in Carthage and Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Mr. Lipsey passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at his home in Longview.
Ronald Ray Lipsey was born on December 8, 1943 in Longview, TX to R. L. "Tight" and Mary Ellen Whitehurst Lipsey. He graduated from Longview High School with the class of 1962 and attended Kilgore College. In his early years, Mr. Lipsey worked as a foreman for Lipsey, Inc. a major Gulf Coast Pipeline Contractor out of Pasadena, TX. He also worked in the Middle East for many years before coming back to the states where he started Lone Star Road Boring in Longview. He was a member of the East Mountain Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father on September 12, 1982 and his mother on February 9, 2005.
Mr. Lipsey is survived by his wife, Ronnie Lipsey of Longview; two sons, Dalton Lipsey and wife Vicki of Longview and Jimmy Ray Lipsey of Longview; one step-son, Jason Mabry and wife Yana of Longview; one brother, Don Lipsey and wife Sallie of Carthage; one sister, Mary Ann Lipsey of Spring; two grandsons, Marshall Ray Lipsey and Christopher Allen Lipsey; one step-grandson, Deaven Mabry; and two uncles, F. G. "Bubba" Lipsey and wife Joya of Oakwood and Allen Gene Whitehurst and wife Joyce of Longview. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Lipsey.
