Obituary

Ronald "Ronnie" Heaton, 63, of Houston passed away on October 11, 2010. He was born on November 24, 1946 in Pasadena, Texas to parents, Roy Byron Heaton and Billie Faye Thompson. He was proud to serve his nation as a United States Marine, serving in the Vietnam War. He served in the Corps as a Corporal from February 21, 1966 until August 23, 1968 receiving several honors and medals in his career. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Metal w/ 1 star, the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ Device, 2 Purple Hearts w/ 1 star, and the Rifle Marksman Badge. He was a Transmitter Operator while in the Marine Corps and supported numerous Charities, Political Associations and enjoyed reading his Bible.

He is survived by his children, Nikky Latil and husband Steve, Bruce Heaton, Sluggo and Larry; grandchildren, Jerad and Kayle Tyner, Kristyn and Tiffany Latil and Connor and Brianna Heaton, Mothers of his children, Barbara Heaton-Knapke, and Linda Heaton; brother, Roy Heaton and wife Debbie; nieces, Rebecca Williams and husband Roger and Samantha Townsend and husband Billy; nephew, Trey Heaton and wife Brenda; grandnieces and grandnephews, Tyler, Joseph and Emma Townsend and Ryle Williams.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home with a service held at 7 p.m. Private family graveside services will be held in Gary, Texas.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
