Funeral services for Mr. Roger Sadler, age 67, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed and Rev. James Littleton officiating. Interment will follow in Rehobeth Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Sadler passed away on Monday morning, Oct. 31, 2011, at his home near Carthage.
Roger Dewayne Sadler was born on May 16, 1944, in Pearsall, TX, the son of Emory Abner and Amy Loraine Lindsey Ross. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1962. Mr. Sadler served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He married Sandra Nell Monroe on May 9, 1964, at Southside Baptist Church in Carthage. Mr. Sadler worked for the Panola County Road and Bridge Department. for many years until his retirement. He loved to fish, working on the tractor, and being outdoors. He was a wonderful father, husband, and PePaw. Mr. Sadler lived most of his life in Carthage and was a member of the Rehobeth United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Sadler is survived by his wife, Sandra; two sons, Farrell Sadler and wife Lesley and Steven Sadler and wife Lacy all of Carthage; one daughter, Debra Anderson and husband Joey of Carthage; one brother, Bobby Saddler and wife Mellie of Keithville; brother-in-law, Nelson Monroe and wife Georgia of Carthage; aunt and uncle, Mary and Jerry Holland of Carthage; uncle and aunt, Elmer and Elizabeth Lindsey of Pearsall; three grandchildren, Casey Sadler, Sarah Anderson, and Sam Anderson; one grandchild on the way; and a special cousin, Rosa Lee Eller and husband Jerry of Killeen. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Sadler.
Serving as pallbearers are Christopher Ross Noble, Brian Monroe, Bradley Price, Bobby Williams, Sam Anderson, and John Fred Saddler.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff and nurses of Texas Home Health and Heart's Way Hospice for the loving care shown to Mr. Sadler.
