A graveside service for Rodney Glenn, 75, of Carthage, will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at Rehobeth Cemetery with Bro. Bob Scott officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service. Mr. Glenn passed away on Sunday morning, Nov. 15, 2015, at his home in Carthage.
James Rodney Glenn was born on June 28, 1940, in Colmesneil, TX to the late Perry and Ruby Ledra Glenn. He graduated from Jasper High School with the class of 1957. He worked as a welder and pipeline inspector all of his life. Rodney married Linda Gayle Liston on Apr. 23, 1999, in Moab, UT. He loved fishing. Mr. Glenn had lived in Carthage for the past 12 years and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sylvia Hayes and Janice Sheffield.
Mr. Glenn is survived by his wife Linda of Carthage; sons, Jimmy Glenn of Beaumont and Joey Glenn and wife Gretchen of Silsbee; daughter, Jennifer Pleasant and husband Larry of Nacogdoches; step-sons, Curt Brown and wife Terri of Ruston and Russell Brown and wife Melissa of Hayes, VA; brother, Dickie Glenn and wife Brenda of Jasper; sister, Patricia Warner of Beaumont; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Glenn.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Heart's Way Hospice, to Dr. George Leatherman and Dr. Adam Duran for the loving care shown to Rodney during his illness.
