Funeral services for Mr. Rodney Boutin, age 63 years of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dennis Landtroop and Brother Noel Coker officiating. Interment will follow in the Woods Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Boutin passed away on Wednesday night, March 5, 2008 in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Rodney George Boutin was born on May 26, 1944 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana to Claiborne and Bernice d'Augureaux Boutin. Mr. Boutin served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam and was honorably discharged. He married Victoria Sue Dillon on August 23, 1969 in Houston, Texas. Mr. Boutin had lived in Panola County since 1981, moving from Humble, Texas. He worked as a farmer and was a member of the Carthage United Pentecostal Church. Mr. Boutin was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Boutin is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sue Boutin of Carthage, Texas; one son, Nathan Boutin and wife Kelly of Carthage, Texas; one daughter, Sonja Fuller and husband Joey of Nacogdoches, Texas; one brother, Fred Boutin and wife Thelma of Jennings, Louisiana; six sisters, Grace Simon and husband Allen of Lafayette, Louisiana; Joyce Boutin of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, Mary Stutes of Lafayette, Louisiana, Lucille Sharp and husband Robert of Highlands, Texas, Ida Prejean of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Nolia Clavier of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; and five grandchildren, Riley Fuller, Nathanial Boutin, Miles Fuller, Katelynn Boutin, and Andrew Fuller. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Boutin.

Serving as pallbearers are Jude Sharp, Samuel Sharp, Darren Freeman, Keith McBride, Kenneth Dillon, and Nathan Boutin. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Riley Fuller and Nathaniel Boutin.
