Rodger Cunningham, 71, of Tatum, TX, passed away on Tuesday morning, Nov. 13, 2018, near Tatum, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Rodger Gale Cunningham was born on June 2, 1947, in Jacksonville, TX, to the late Willie Arthur "W.A." and Wriley Mae Pittman Cunningham. He graduated from Tatum High School with the class of 1965. He attended Panola College and Stephen F. Austin State University. He married Reba Jo Toon on May 16, 2003, in Marshall. Rodger worked as an electrician until his retirement. In his retirement, he enjoyed cattle ranching and hunting. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast. Rodger lived in Tatum his whole life and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Reba of Tatum; son, Matt Cunningham; daughter, Nikki Cunningham Courtney and husband Sean; step-children, Seth Sellers and wife Jasmine, Ryan Echols, Rebecca Parker and husband Troy, and Sarah Wright and husband Matthew; grandchildren, Alannah, Lauren, and Aidan Courtney; step-grandchildren, Jaden, Jordan, Jenna and Tex Parker, John and Judson Wright, and Eli and Levi Sellers; aunts, Judge Bonnie Fay Miller and husband Paul Montes, Connie Mae Metcalf and husband John, and Barbara Sue Fite; numerous cousins also survive as well as his faithful companion, Critter.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Tatum Cemetery with Jason Taylor officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Michael Satcher, Tommy Oden, Larry Garner, Billy Beall, Matt Wright, and Troy Parker. Honorary pallbearers are Seth Sellers and Sean Courtney.
