A funeral service for Mr. Robert Edward Yount, age 91, formerly of the Galloway Community in Panola County, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 705 Airport Freeway in Hurst, TX. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Adams Cemetery in Panola County. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home in Hurst. Mr. Yount passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013. Robert Edward Yount was born Oct. 22, 1922 in the Galloway Community of Panola County, TX. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. Robert was a respected Bluegrass musician. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Inez; brothers, Denzil, Lavern, Herman, and Clifton; and his sisters Eva and Madie Bee.

Mr. Yount is survived by his wife, Earnestine Tate; son, Audie Yount and wife Evelyn; daughters, Letretha Yount, Gail Welch and husband Michael, and Neima Felan and husband Henry; extended family members, Van and Steve Risinger and Tenia Baker; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Yount.
