Robert Don Wright, 74, of Beckville, TX, passed away on Monday morning, Aug. 30, 2021, in Carthage, TX. He was born on Dec. 18, 1946, in Tyler, TX to the late L.B. and Winnie Davis Henderson Wright. Robert graduated from John Tyler High School with the class of 1965. He worked for H.B. Zachary until his retirement. Robert married Donna Gale Wigley in 1987, in Hereford, TX and she preceded him in death on Sept. 29, 2009. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and gardening. Robert married Brenda Gayle Travis on Sept. 24, 2011, in Carthage at Stillwater's Cowboy Church where he was a long-time and devoted member. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Wayne Wright and step-son, Daniel Wayne Bobo.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Wright; son, Terry Lee Wright and wife Michelle; daughter, Teri Dawson and husband Andy; step-children, Peggy Cone, Kevin Johns and wife Chery, Robby Bobo, Ricky Johns and wife Shona, and Randy Johns and wife Angel; siblings, Elaine Herring and husband Jerry, Debbie Vance and husband Joe Ed, and Dale Wright; grandchildren, Robin Beall, Amanda Sims, and Candace Bynum, Samantha, Sydney, Parker, and Savanah Johns, Lexie and Skylar Dawson, Brittany Mojica, Gunner Smith and Sawyer Johns; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other family and many friends.

A funeral service with Masonic rites will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matt Comer officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery, Rusk County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Ricky Johns, Andy Dawson, Terry Wright, Ralph Walker, Bill Peace, and Randy Johns. Honorary pallbearers are Russell Vance, Kevin Johns, Joe Ed Vance, Kevin Vance and Robbie Bobo.
