Robert Alvin "Bobby" Posey, age 82, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, February 26, 2025, in Carthage. He was born on November 26, 1942, in Franklin, Louisiana to the late James Robert and Angelina Zuma Posey. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1961. Bobby served 4 years in the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged. He married Mary Lou Brown on August 8, 1975, in Dixon County, Tennessee and she preceded him in death on October 8, 2016 after 41 years together. Bobby enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Growing up, he attended Ebenezer Methodist Church in the Del Ray Community of Panola County with his family. He was also preceded in death by his grandchild, Aaron Thane; great-grandchild, Douglas Wayne Freeman; and sister, Sandra Lee Posey.

Bobby is survived by his daughter, Mellinda Posey; son, Todd Thane; numerous grandchildren including grandson, Michael Kelly, Jr.; numerous great-grandchildren including great-grandson, Bentley Duane Kelly; and siblings, Alfred Posey, Dona Scott, and Janice Page.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
