Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Earl Hudson, Sr. age 83, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Orr officiating. Interment will follow in Gary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Hudson passed away on Wednesday afternoon, June 1, 2011, in Carthage.
Robert Earl Hudson, Sr. was born on Aug. 16, 1927, in Carthage, TX to Olen and Elsie Faye Williams Hudson. He married Marion Beverly Nikkola on May 19, 1951, and she preceded him in death on March 22, 2003, after 51 years of marriage. Mr. Hudson worked as a truck driver for Coastal Transport of Houston before his retirement. He moved back to the Carthage area in 1980, from Houston. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport. Mr. Hudson was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kim Hudson; one infant daughter, Brenda Jane Hudson; one sister, Lucille Beard; one brother, Olen Daniel Hudson; and a daughter-in-law, Shirley K. Hudson.
Mr. Hudson is survived by two sons, Robbie Hudson and wife Lydia of Henderson and Terry Hudson of Kilgore; three daughters, Candice Davis and husband Eric of Kilgore, Connie Rutan and husband Joe of Bayard, NE, and Carla Davis and husband Mark of Carthage; six brothers, Thomas Hudson of Lake Murvaul, Billy Hudson and wife Joyce of Carthage, Mutt Hudson and wife Mickey of Humble, Jacky Hudson and wife Betty of Tatum, John Hudson and wife Dian of Beckville, and Noble Hudson of Beckville; fifteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Hudson.
Serving as pallbearers are Nicholas Hudson, Jeffrey Hudson, Collin Davis, Kirk Davis, Timothy Davis, and David Matula.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Thomas Hudson, Billy Hudson, Mutt Hudson, Jacky Hudson, John
Hudson, and Noble Hudson.
