Robert Earl Hodges, 71, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Sunday night, Aug. 15, 2021, in Henderson, TX. He was born on Aug. 18, 1949, in Marshall, TX to the late David Charlie and Mildred Lola Sanders Hodges. Robert married Leslie Leigh Telker on Jan. 31, 1993, in Carthage. He worked as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment operator, truck driver and was a jack of all trades. Robert enjoyed fishing, camping, and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie Hodges of Carthage; sons, J.R. Hodges and wife Johanna of Gilmer and Nolan Hodges and wife Courtney of Carthage; siblings, Loretta Etheredge of Carthage, David Hodges and wife Lisa of Carthage, Louise Twomey of Center, and Lois Crawford of Arkansas; and grandchildren, Julie Hodges, Jordan Hodges, Brody Hodges, and Blakely and Bryce Hodges.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Kirby Hill officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
