Robert Hardy, 55, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Saturday morning, June 22, 2019, in Longview. Robert Al Hardy was born on Nov. 22, 1963, in Carthage to Wesley Harris and Mary Lou Hardy. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1982. Robert married Melody Jocelyn Odom on Feb. 23, 2000, in Carthage. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, the Carthage Bulldogs, and playing dominos. Robert worked at Louisiana Pacific in Carthage for over 28 years before retiring. He had lived his lifetime in Panola County and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father; grandmother, Ida Mae Harris; grandfather, Tom Harris; and nieces, Ermandra Hardy and Ashley Robertson.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Mary Sheppard; wife, Melody Hardy; sons, Christner Hardy (Kristee) and Ravodne Hardy (Tania); daughters, Arlisha George (Curtiss), Raveesha Williams (Brandon), and Sherekia Handy; 9 brothers; 10 sisters; and 4 grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Hardy.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Carthage with Rev. J.T. Harris officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Holland Quarters Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Master, Gregory Jones, Tyrone Allison, Kimmie Henderson, Anthony Bradford, Antoine Haynes, Willie Williams, Gary Henderson, Joe Colbert, Lee Osborn, Marvin Tatum and Carl Tatum.  Honorary Pallbearers are Virgil Hardy, Anthony Robertson, Terrance Allen, Kerri Allen, Kevin Harris, Grundi Woods, Chris Hardy, RaVodney Hardy, Jakirron George, Jaydon George, Brandon Williams, A'yden Handy, Aiden Williams, Ashton Roberts, Justin Booty, Jamarcus Hardy, Jahavion Hardy, Jeremiah Ratcliff, Jocorbian Brown and Kayson Booty
