A funeral service for Mr. Robert L. Decker, Sr., age 73 of the Riderville Community of Panola County, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ted White officiating. Entombment will follow at Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Decker passed away on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at his home in Riderville.


Robert Lee Decker, Sr. was born on Apr. 6, 1939, in Liberal, KS to Marion O. and Pauline Blake Decker. He graduated from Satanta, KS High School with the class of 1957. Mr. Decker married Evelyn Louise Page on July 31, 1959, in Satanta. He moved to Panola County in 1974, from Satanta. Mr. Decker worked for Cities Service Gas Plant in Carthage for 11 years at which time he went to work for Louisiana Pacific for 25 years until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry and Terry Decker; and a sister Mona Decker.


Mr. Decker is survived by his wife, Evelyn Decker of Riderville; one daughter, Anna Louise McDaniel and husband Roy of Newark, DE; one son, Robert L. Decker, Jr. and wife Kelly of Kilgore; one sister, Patricia Thibodeaux and husband David "Gene" of New Iberia, LA; two sisters-in-law, Sandy Decker of Parker, CO and Naomi Mayfield of Wichita, KS; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny and Frances Jones of Muncie, IN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Zora Page of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Stephen James Foster, Brian Keith Decker, Brady Lee Decker McClellan, Madison Nicole McDaniel, Laramie Michelle McDaniel, and Lisa McDaniel Martin and husband George; and one great-grandchild, Alyssa Michelle Foster. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Decker.


Serving as pallbearers are David Fleming, Jerry Morris, and John Patty.
