Obituary

Funeral services for Rev. Robert Lee Arrington, age 88, of DeBerry, TX, will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Shreveport with Rev. Cecil Daniels, Rev. Steve Harris, Rev. Michael Hook, and Rev. Danny Russo officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to the funeral service. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Morgan Cemetery in Morgan, TX. Rev. Arrington's body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home in Carthage. He passed away on Saturday morning, Feb. 11, 2012, in Shreveport, LA.

Robert Lee Arrington was born on Sept. 17, 1923, in Morgan, TX to Will T. and Mirtie B. Moore Arrington. He married Mary Lucille Boyd on Jan. 17, 1943, in Morgan, TX. Rev. Arrington was ordained as a minister of the United Pentecostal Church International in 1953. The first church he pastored was in Clifton, TX. He went on to pastor numerous other churches in the Central and East Texas area. Rev. Arrington founded the First United Pentecostal Church in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Ministry was his life's work and he was dedicated to helping people. Rev. Arrington retired and moved to Carthage in 1986, from Waukesha. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, W.G., A.C., and A.J. Arrington; and one son, Robert Dale Arrington.

Rev. Arrington is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lucille Arrington of DeBerry; two sons, Jim Arrington and wife Kay of Beckville and Ed Arrington and wife Martha of DeBerry; four grandchildren, Eve Woods and husband Randy, Jason Arrington, Josh Arrington and wife Stacey and their mother Judith Arrington, and D'Lisa Frioux and husband Sammy; and six great-grandchildren, Jade, Sage, and Benjamin Woods and Hunter, Gabriel, and Caeden Arrington.

Serving as pallbearers are Josh Arrington, Randy Woods, Sammy Frioux, Eric Darden, Robert Fuller, Jonathan Christman, and David Cox.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jason Arrington and Chuck Roethke.
