Robert James Allen, Sr., 68, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Thursday afternoon, May 26, 2022 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on August 10, 1953, in Mansfield, Louisiana, to the late Robert Douglas Johnson and Lula Allen. Robert was of the Baptist faith.  He married Vixie Ann Marshall on December 24, 1972, in Carthage. Robert worked at Tyson Foods for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, sports, and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Bertha Allen.

Robert is survived by his wife, Vixie Allen; children, Marlowe Allen, Phalander Allen (Trazell Palmer), Robert James Allen, Jr., and Octavian Allen (Chantel); siblings, Azzie Lee Smith, Billie Kidd, and Puddin; grandchildren, Sharnece Allison, Lamarious Allen, Tameia Ware, and Jenyla Weaver; and great-grandchildren, Royal Ellis, and one on the way.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Walker Cemetery in Carthage with Rev. Robert George Lewis officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
