Ricky Pride, 70, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Saturday morning, Aug. 15, 2020, in Tyler, TX. Richard Wayne Pride was born on Oct. 11, 1949, in Henderson, TX to the late Bryan Richardson and Hilliard Oredian "Bo" Wilkerson Pride. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1968, where he lettered in football and track. In 2016, he was inducted in the CHS Athletic Hall of Honor. He attended Henderson County Jr. College where he earned an associate's degree and played football on scholarship. He later attended T.C.U. on a football scholarship. Ricky married Sherry Lynn Hooper on in Jan. 11, 1969, in Carthage. He worked many years as a consultant in the oil and gas industry. Ricky enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He also worked in ranching and enjoyed roping. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Virgil Cranmore.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Pride of Carthage; son, Bryan Pride of Carthage; daughters, Jamie DeVille and husband Shane of Carthage and Jessica Pride of Carthage; siblings, Eddie Pride and wife Tina of Beckville, Lisa Powell and husband Mickey of Batesville, AR, Matt Cranmore and wife Cheri of Florence, MS, Sheila Morrison and husband Jared of Florence, MS, and Pat Browning and wife Perri of Carthage; grandchildren, Rope Pride and wife Shelby, Rider Pride and wife Carson, Savannah Pride and fiancé, Billy Bob Brown, and Tucker and Cole DeVille; and great-grandchildren, Denver, Dalli, and Dutton Pride. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive.

A funeral service with Masonic Rites will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steven Hill and Dr. Dale Reed officiating. The service will also be available to view via live stream on the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Facebook page. Interment will follow in Adams Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Rope Pride, Rider Pride, Tucker DeVille, Cole DeVille, Pat Browning, and Charlie Lawhorn.

Honorary pallbearers are Ben Thomas, Scott Page, Trent Pride, Tye Pride, and Billy Bob Brown.
