Ricky Marlin Briggs, 64, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 26, 2019, in Longview. He was born on April 2, 1955, in Carthage to Edward Marvin and Maurine Hunt Briggs. Ricky attended Alief School District near Houston. He worked as a car salesman for many years and later as a long-haul truck driver. Ricky loved playing pool and golf. He attended Northside Christian Center in Carthage when he was able. Ricky was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Don and Chris Briggs.

Survivors include his mother, Maurine Briggs of Carthage; son, Ryan Briggs of Ohio; brother, Leo Briggs and wife Beth of Huffman; nephews, Garrett Briggs of Tatum and Tyler Briggs of Huffman; and a niece, Megan Briggs of Seattle, WA.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Aaron Bequette officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the memorial service.
