Richard Ford, 71, of DeBerry, Texas passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, in Tyler, Texas. Richard Douglas Ford was born July 24, 1951, in Laredo, Texas to the late Ray Ford and Joyce Shafer Johnson. He married Janice Lee on June 1, 1984, in Las Vegas and they celebrated 38 years together. Richard was a rancher and an avid rodeo participant where he competed as a team roper. Richard spent his most recent years ranching and rodeoing. He loved ocean fishing and enjoyed talking about it. But above everything else, his family meant everything to him. Richard was the owner of R&J's Custom Exhaust and Wrecker Service in Carthage for many years. He was preceded in death by his father; mother; step-dad and best friend, T.C. Johnson; sister, Mary Ann; and brothers, Roy and Johnny Ford.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Janice; son, Chris Ford and wife Casandra and their children, Caylee and Camryn; daughter, Stephanie Monroe and husband Brandon and their children, Rachel and Levi, brother, Ray Ford; sisters, Jo Taylor and husband Dennis and Cathy Genser. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends also survive Richard.

A celebration of life for Mr. Ford will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Rockin F Ranch Arena, 497 CR 3222, DeBerry, Texas 75639.

The family suggests memorials in lieu of floral offerings be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959 or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana 71103.
