Funeral services for Mrs. Regina Simonson, age 42, of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Betty Wills officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Simonson passed away on Tuesday morning, July 28, 2009, at her home in Carthage after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Regina Gayle Phillips Simonson was born on June 1, 1967, in Andrews, Texas to Robert Glen Wood Phillips and Elva Delores Fields Phillips. Regina went to Carthage Schools and later earned her Cosmetology Degree from Panola College. She married Jerry Dean Simonson on April 30, 1982, in Timpson. She worked as the office manager for Reynolds Insurance Agency. Mrs. Simonson was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Roger Phillips.

Mrs. Simonson is survived by her husband, Jerry Simonson of Carthage; her mother, Delores Phillips of Carthage; one son, Shawn Simonson of Carthage; one daughter, Ciji Cunningham and husband Matt of Tatum; one grandchild, Kaden Ridgway of Beckville; and a special friend, Cindy Ramsey of Carthage.

Serving as pallbearers are David Hodge, Lucas Hodge, Josh Hodge, Craig Milam, Ronnie Wall, and Trevor Morton.
