Reba Nell Burns Harris, 93, of the Fair Play Community in Panola County, Texas, passed away Saturday evening, April 5, 2025, in Longview, Texas. Reba Nell Burns was born December 7, 1931, in the Antioch Community of Panola County to the late Alpha Omega and Mary Iola Capps Burns. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1948. On July 17, 1948, Reba married Joe Parker Harris in Carthage, Texas. They spent the first years of their marriage in Dallas, Texas where they raised their three children.  Reba was a loving homemaker and had a 30-year career with Southwestern Bell Telephone/AT&T where she started as an operator and retired as a traffic supervisor.  Later, in 1977, Reba and Joe Parker returned to Panola County to spend their retirement years.  Mrs. Harris is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 59 years, Joe Parker Harris; her son, Stephen Cai Harris; and her siblings, Melvin Burns, Charles Burns, Elsie Ebbeling, and Wilbur Burns.

Survivors include her children, Thomas Jonathan Harris and wife Kathleen, and Joanna Harris Bounds and husband Greg; daughter-in-law, Karen Harris; grandchildren, Kyanne Harris Todd, Amy Bounds Neshem and husband Daniel, Joshua Cai Harris, Christopher Scott Bounds and wife Lindsay, Benjamin Michael Weindorff, and Katherine Isabelle Weindorff; and great-grandchildren, Lexi Todd, Gideon Wyatt Bounds, and Jane Luise Bounds. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive Mrs. Harris.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benjamin Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow in the Harris Family Cemetery in Fair Play. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers are Christopher Bounds, Justin Jones, Bailey Jones, Mark Harris, Michael Harris, and Sam Jones.

Honorary pallbearer is James "Shorty" Jones.
