A funeral service for Raymond L. Glover, 72, of Carthage, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 with Pat Henigan officiating at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Glover passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014.
Raymond Loyd Glover was born on Dec. 28, 1941, in Raymondville, TX to the late Marvin and Melba Jane Poer Glover. Raymond married Elizabeth Louise Scott on June 22, 1959, in Clute, TX. He worked for many years as an industrial painter. He was also a very talented furniture builder, having built many pieces of furniture for famous people. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting for rocks, metal detecting, hunting for arrowheads, and had a green thumb. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Glover moved to Carthage around 2008, from Rowe, NM. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and Carl Glover and one sister, Dottie Stanwood.
Mr. Glover is survived by his wife, Louise of Carthage; son, Boyd Dean Glover and wife Georgia of Churchill; daughter, Sheila Rae Glover of Angleton; grandchildren, Raymond and Cody Glover, Tiffany Rae Youts and Michael Gallegos, Clint Youts, and Tyler Ortiz; and great-grandchildren, Cameron and Serenity.
Pallbearers are Roy Martin Dale Blackstock, Carl Wayne Blackstock, David Scott, Victor Schaatt, Michael Phelps, and Travis Phelps.
Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Blackstock, Jimmy Scott, and Pat Henigan.
