Obituary

A funeral service for Mr. Ralph O. Williams, age 89, of Beckville, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Williams passed away on Thursday evening, June 6, 2013, at his home.

Ralph O. Williams was born on Sept. 5, 1923, in Panola County, TX to Holcomb Harrison and Lois Craig Williams. He attended Tatum schools. Ralph served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII and was honorably discharged. He married Jean Barnett on Aug. 1, 1945, in San Bernardino, CA. Mr. Williams owned Williams Garage in Tatum where he worked in auto repair until his retirement. He was a 32nd degree mason and was a member of the Beckville Masonic Lodge #922. He loved coon hunting and was a member of the Blue Tick Breeders Assn. for many years. Ralph loved his family dearly. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He lived his lifetime in Beckville and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Harris Chapel. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lawrence, Delbert, Ray, and Albert Williams; and two grandsons, Alan Wayne Beall and Ryan Dustin Legg.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean Williams of Beckville; four daughters, Bonnie Davis of Beckville, Evelyn Daniels and husband David of Beckville, Suzanne Legg and husband Dan of Teague, and Barbara Floyd of Beckville; six grandchildren, Heidi Swainston and husband Joe, Wayne Daniels and wife Glenda, Ginger Harris and husband Buddy, Lindsay Dillon and husband Scott, Amy Nail and husband Derek, and Ashley Chambers and fiancé Chant Jordan; eleven great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Troy Williams and wife Judy of Tatum.

Serving as pallbearers are David Daniels, Dan Legg, Wayne Daniels, Buddy Harris, Bryce Harris, and Troy Williams.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Derek Nail, Scott Dillon, Chant Jordan, Larry Loper, B.H. Patterson, Sonny Carswell, Johnny Knowels, Bill Langley, Bill Foster, Marlin Skinnner, Kevin Landtroop, Harold Allred, Buddy Langford, Chad Gibson, Bill Carter, and Johnny Kirkland and many others who were so faithful to come by and visit.
