Obituary

A funeral service for R. K. Hough, 79, of Lake Murvaul, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Hough passed away on Friday afternoon, June 27, 2014, in Dallas.

R. K. Hough was born on Aug. 9, 1934, in the Concord Community in Shelby County, TX to the late Grady Benjamin and Anzie Weeks Hough. He served his country in the U.S. Marines and was honorably discharged. Mr. Hough married Shirley Louise Cathey on Oct. 20, 1956, in Houston. He worked for the Port Terminal Railroad in Houston for 16 years. R. K. later owned his own trucking business until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and reading. Mr. Hough moved his family to the area in 1971, from Houston and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Vollie Dell Durham, Bethel Bell, and Geneva Hutto; two brothers, Bill and Wayne Hough; and one grandson, Blake Richard Hough.

Mr. Hough is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Shirley Hough of Lake Murvual; four children, Belinda Mobbs and husband Keith of Lake Cherokee, Richard Hough and wife Susan of Carthage, Nathan Hough of White Oak, and April Hough Bagley of Carthage; one sister, Linda Weaver and husband Harris of Lake Timpson; eight grandchildren, Katrina Keith, Miranda Edmondson and husband Bobby, Adam Hough and wife Summer, Jessica Hough Mills, Chelsea Hough, Rosston Thomas, Anna Grace and Addi Faith Bagley; three step-grandchildren, Samantha, Seslea, and Jake; five great-grandchildren, Kortney, Braden, Clayton, Mason, and Callie Rae; and two step-great-grandchildren, Logan and Lane.

Serving as pallbearers are Adam Hough, Rosston Thomas, John Williamson, Chris Cathey, Bobby Edmondson, Brad Robinson, and Keith Mobbs.

Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Johnny C. Williamson.
