Graveside services for Mrs. Princella Baxter Davis, age 95 of Kilgore, Texas will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007 at Jordan Valley Cemetery in Longview under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis passed away on Monday night, March 12, 2007 in Kilgore.

Princella Baxter Davis was born on June 25, 1911 in Kilgore, Texas to W. A. and Ida Lockhart Baxter. Beloved mother, grandmother, and "Aunt Prince," Princella Baxter Davis lived for her large extended family and friends. Whenever anyone in the family needed help, Mrs. Davis was there to cook, wash, care for children, and even go fishing in order to provide meals for "hungry young-uns." "Cottie" often jumped in to help out with numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She'd been a devoted daughter to her mother and precious "Poppa" throughout their entire lives. She also worked in Kilgore, cleaning and cooking for several families for many years. Princella Davis also cherished the land where she was raised and remained there her entire life, working hard to make sure it remained in the family for future generations. She had lived her lifetime in Kilgore and was of the Methodist Faith. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her daughter, Annie Murl Jones; three brothers; and four sisters.

Mrs. Davis is survived by four grandchildren, Ronnie Reed, Fatimah Hakim, Vanessa Jones, and Deanna Jones all of Dallas; six great-grandchildren; one niece, Ida L. Banks of Dallas and her daughter Marcheal Cleaver of Kilgore; and many other loving relatives. In addition to her family, Mrs. Davis leaves behind many loving friends, including Karen Maines and her daughter Alicia Taylor.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kilgore Manor Nursing Home for their loving care of Mrs. Davis this past year.
