Funeral services for Mr. Phelix Truman Martin, age 70, of Beckville, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at New Prospect Church near Beckville with Bro. Bob Scott officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to the service. Mr. Martin passed away on Monday morning, Jan. 24, 2011, at his home near Beckville.

Phelix Truman Martin was born on Oct. 11, 1940, in Beckville, TX to Leland Thomas and Ferne Ozelle Weaver Martin. He was retired and attended New Prospect Church near Beckville. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Martin Weatherford.

Mr. Martin is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Dailey Martin of Beckville; three sisters, Lois Walker and husband Clois of Nacogdoches, Jetta Taylor and husband Albert of Longview, and Carolyn Harmon and husband Conley of Longview; mother-in-law, Mary Lou Dailey of Beckville; brother-in-law, Bill Dailey and wife Briley of Beckville; sister-in-law, Betty Harris and husband Gay of Beckville; two uncles, Beauford Martin and Inos Weaver; and one aunt, Buna Hart. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews also survive Mr. Martin.

Serving as pallbearers are Charlie Dailey, Will Harris, Kirk Weaver, Rob Tuttle, Carey Weatherford, and Brian Taylor.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Beauford Martin, Bill Dailey, Gay Harris, Tanner Elliott, Buddy Langford, and Dustin Powell.
