A funeral service for Mr. Pervis Eugene Young, 60, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel, 1131 State Highway 149, in Carthage TX, with Rev. Stephen Beard and speaker Boo Klein officiating. Interment will follow at County Line Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Young passed away on Saturday Jan. 2, 2021, in his home on Lake Murvaul.

Pervis Eugene Young was born on Feb. 14, 1960, in Fort Worth, TX, to Jerry Melton "J.M." and Sylvia Mae Hale Young. He graduated from Harmony High School with the class of 1978. Pervis attended Kilgore College then quickly joined the workforce. He spent over 40 years in the oil and gas industry and was currently working as a consultant for Young Energy Services. Pervis was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, friend, and mentor. He loved traveling, riding motorcycles, family, rodeo, hunting and fishing. Above all, he loved his family. Pervis was preceded in death by his father, JM Young; father-in-law, Carl Beam; and great-grandson, Kristopher Sparks.

Pervis is survived by his mother, Sylvia Young; wife, Linda Young; son, Morgan Young and wife Nicky; daughter, Leslie Kerlick and husband Chad; son, Schuyler Young; step-sons, David Cash and Christopher Cash; step-daughter, Jessica Cash; grandsons, Michael Sparks and wife Kaylee, Tyler Sparks and wife Kelby, Levi Kerlick, Rowdy Young, and Brodie Young; sisters, Kim Wingfield and Cindy Steger and husband David; brother, Rusty Young and wife Jinjer; and great-grandchildren, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends also survive Pervis.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Cagle, Rickey Leslie, Matt Murphy, Boo Klein, Rowland Turner, Wendell McNeely, Bradley Kerr, Mike Hays, Roy Amos and Chris Sparks.
