Peggy Nell Lollar, 83, of Carthage, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, Feb. 9, 2017, at her daughter's home near Carthage. She was born on Dec. 9, 1933, in Conroe, TX, to the late Emmit and Mildred Lee Houser. Mildred passed away when Peggy was two years old and the late Marjorie Riley became her mother. She married Reagan Lollar on Oct. 19, 1951, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 2015. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Emmit "Buzzy" Houser and her sister, Cathy Houser Niland.
Peggy enjoyed life. Most people knew her as the lady with the beautiful smile, kind heart, and encouraging words. She loved taking care of people. She loved to draw, paint, read, play the piano, sing and help her grandchildren with school projects. She also loved to cook and feed her grandchildren and their friends. One of her other hobbies was Fancywear. Even though it was her business, it was the first time she had ever worked outside of the home and she loved visiting and going to market with family and friends. Peggy was very active in the Nazarene Church. She was a Sunday school teacher when her children were growing up as well as PTA president during their grade school years.
Survivors include her children, Mark Lollar and wife Bettye of Mt. Enterprise, Becky Blair and husband Brad of Carthage, John David Lollar of Carthage, and Lisa Tate and husband Vince of Carthage; sisters, Joy Houser Ditmore of Conroe, Diane Houser Long and husband Donnie of Conroe, and Janie Houser Meador and husband Mike of Conroe; and sister-in-law, Vicky Houser. Peggy's ultimate pride and joy were all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; grandchildren include, April Lollar Coursey and husband Jeremiah of Whitehouse, Amy Lollar Rinehart and husband Michael of Dallas, Adam Lollar of Mt. Enterprise, Ashley Lollar of Tyler, David Allen Lollar of Carthage, Jenna Lollar of Port Arthur, Brooke Blair Cope and husband Garrett of Carthage, Brynne Blair of Carthage, Khris Tate and wife Nikki of Dallas, Paige Tate of Dallas, and Kenzie Tate of College Station; great-grandchildren include, Blair and Bradley Cope of Carthage, Alyssa Henderson and Jagger Coursey of Whitehouse, Gabriella and Sovereign Rinehart of Dallas, and Evan Lollar of Port Arthur. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends also survive Mrs. Lollar.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Gwinn officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Heights Cemetery in Mt. Enterprise. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Vince Tate, Brad Blair, Khris Tate, Adam Lollar, David Allen Lollar, Garrett Smith, Alan Smith, and Al Loofboro.
