Peggy Jean Chambers, 87, of Beckville, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Friday night, April 10, 2020, in Marshall, TX. Peggy Jean Trice was born on March 28, 1933, in Big Spring, TX to the late Wayne Burt and Kate Elizabeth Woodson Trice. She married James B. Chambers, Sr. on Feb. 7, 1948, in Baytown, TX and he preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 2009. Mrs. Chambers moved to Beckville in 1972, from LaPorte, TX and was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, James B. Chambers, Jr.

Survivors include her children, Glenda Reeder of Carthage, Buck K. Chambers and wife Kit of Beckville, and Gary Chambers and wife Tammy of Beckville; sister, Mary Kathryn Franks of Carthage; sister-in-law, Mary June Powell of LaPorte; brother-in-law, Buck H. Chambers of Beckville; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Chambers.

A family graveside service will be held at Langley Cemetery in Beckville with Bro. Gary Chambers officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. A come and go viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2020, at the funeral home.
