A funeral service for Mrs. Pearlie B. Williams, age 81, of the Deadwood Community, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Williams Tabernacle Church of God in Christ with Elder James Williams, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Paradise Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mrs. Williams passed away on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 3, 2013, at her home in Deadwood.
Pearlie B. Johnson Williams was born on Jan. 11, 1931, in Panola County, TX to Elmo and Ollie Crosby Johnson. She married Obie Williams, Jr. on Jan. 28, 1943, in Panola County and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2005. Mrs. Williams worked at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home in Carthage as a C.N.A. for over 25 years until her retirement. She was a workaholic, loved her flower garden, adored her children and family, enjoyed fishing, and loved her church. She lived in Panola County all of her life and was a member of Williams Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lonnie, Raymond, and Leonard Johnson; and three sisters, Mattie Lee Burrough, Euredell Douglas, and Mary Helen Perkins.
Mrs. Williams is survived by four sons, Jerry Williams, Gilbert Williams, Delton Williams, and Shelby Williams and wife Vernanda all of Carthage; seven daughters, Gloria Graves of Carthage, Dolly DeWitt and husband Arthur of Newark, CA, Faye Graves of Arlington, Marie Graves of Carthage, Delois Williams and husband Willie of Carthage, Linda Williams and friend John of Jennings, LA, and Zaundra Blackshire and husband Calvin of Carthage; step-mother, Lucille Johnson of Los Angeles; four brothers, Lemon Perkins, Jr. of Houston, Kenneth Ray Perkins of Houston, Donnie Perkins of Houston, and Elmo Johnson, Jr. of Los Angeles; two sisters, Annie Harrell and husband Willie and Jessie Mae Perkins all of Houston; 37 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Donald Williams, Neil Williams, Lynn Blackshire, Danny Williams, Billy Charles Anderson, and Carlos Blackshire.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jerry Williams, Gilbert Williams, Delton Williams, Anthony Graves, Tyrese Williams, Gregg Graves, Phillip Graves, Shelby Williams, Darius Williams, Martez Williams, Morris Blackshire, Arthur DeWitt, Calvin Blackshire, and Willie Williams.
