A funeral service for Mrs. Perlie Mae Anthony, age 90, formerly of Beckville, TX, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Pine Grove Church under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holland's Quarters Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a viewing from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Anthony passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013 in Orlando, FL.
Pearlie Mae Anthony, affectionately known as Aunt Pearl, was born, June 11, 1923, to Edmund and Louisa Pitts. Aunt Pearl enjoyed helping others, as evidenced by the meals she prepared each year for the less fortunate on Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was a dedicated member of Pine Grove Church, where she faithfully served as an usher. On Feb. 29, 2004, both the cities of Carthage and Beckville declared Aunt Pearl Day, for which she was very proud. She was a dedicated leader for the Youngblood Community, where she advocated for the development of a community park, started a bible study, made and distributed Easter baskets to anyone in need, and decorated the entire community with lights each Christmas. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Martha Pitts, Willie Mae Shepherd, and Louella Pitts; and her husband, Allen Anthony.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one brother, Newell (Nell) Pitts of Dallas; one daughter, Blanche (Jay) Naab of Orlando, FL, two grandchildren, Quentin O'Neal Anthony of Dallas and Kynedy Cameel Naab of Orlando; one great-grand son, Quentin Edward O'Neal Anthony; Special Niece, Lucy Smith, Special nephews, Rev. Roberts Pitts and Mickey Pitts and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.
Serving as pallbearers are Earington Mumphrey, Kennis Mumphrey, Jerry Ragster, Nathan Mumphrey, Demontré Allison, Lue Calvin Westmoreland, Johnny Ragster, amd Rodney Westmoreland.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Bobby Pitts, Erick Davis, Eugene Ragster, Anthony Holman, Jonathan Pitts, and Antonio Baggett.
