Paula Louise Pekelo was born on April 27, 1962, in Carthage, Texas. She transitioned on January 27, 2020 in Rowlett, Texas. Paula accepted Christ an early age at First Baptist Church of Redwater in Redwater, Texas. Affectionately known by her family as "Hickory Head", she delighted in many hobbies, including cooking, fishing, and crocheting. Paula had a determined spirit, caring heart, determined wit, independent nature. She was caring to all. She joined the United State Air Force in which she enjoyed serving her country. After being honorably discharged, she attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) and completed her Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiology. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay N. Williams and Lois Hutto Williams.

Those left to cherish precious memories include her son, Joshua Keaoulilani Pekelo, Sr.; daughter, Rachel Williams; grandchildren, Leila Noelani Pekelo and Joshua Keaoulilani Pekelo Jr.; siblings: Deborah Endris (Ken), Pamela Riddle (Ron), Sandra Moser (Wendel), Steven Williams, Cleo Chesshir (Steve), and Grady McCorkle (Ginger); and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
