Patsy Cockrum, 78, of Carthage, TX, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, March 3, 2021, at her home near Carthage. She was born on Oct. 3, 1942, in Carthage to the late James Louie and Nell Towns Hudson. Pat graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1961. She married Carson Earl Cockrum on Dec. 24, 1960, at Murvaul United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2016. Mrs. Cockrum worked at C.I.S.D. Administration for 30 years until her retirement. She was a devoted member of Murvaul U.M.C.

She is survived by her children, Toni Barlow and husband Wade of Carthage, Scott Cockrum and wife Lisa of Rusk, and Corie Baisden and husband Mark of Carthage; grandchildren, Zachary Barlow and wife Hannah, Taylor Fitts and husband David, Molly Barlow, Lainie Cockrum, and Luke and Jonah Baisden; great-grandchild, Rowan Fitts; and sisters-in-law, Jenny Huff of Carthage and Joyce Tullos of Cabot, AR.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Gough and Wade Barlow officiating. Interment will follow in Murvaul Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Scott Cockrum, Wade Barlow, Zachary Barlow, Mark Baisden, David Fitts, Kelly Hayes, and Jerry Garland. Honorary pallbearers are Luke and Jonah Baisden and Rowan Fitts.
